Stonybrook offers a variety of ways for adults to grow spiritually. Sunday School, Bible studies, Prayer groups, classes and life groups are open to all adults at any time.
As we grow spiritually, we explore a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. With Jesus, we establish a faith foundation through study and community. In the power of the Spirit, we equip one another for ministry. And throughout our lifetime in faith, we experience continued spiritual formation as we study, serve, and nurture one another in community, reaching out to make disciples for the transformation of the world.
Lessons for Our Fractured World This 4-week Bible study will be taught by Pastor Bob on Thursdays, January 3-24 at 10:00 am and 6:30 pm. Jonah shows us what a picture of bigotry and hatred of foreigners and enemies looks like to God. Through the character of an outrageous excuse of a prophet, the book of Jonah shows the leaders and people of Judah just how foolish are their insistence on isolationism and exclusion of “the other.” We shall consider the question, “If God loves the outsider, shouldn’t we?”
New Members Our next New Member class will be held on Saturday, January 12 and 19 from 9:30 am-12:00 pm in the church's Multi-Purpose room, with continental breakfast provided. Childcare is available. New Members will be commissioned during our worship services on Sunday, January 27.
