New Member Class In this class, we will discover what it means to be a United Methodist and what it means to be a member of Stonybrook Church. Attendance in the class is not a commitment to join Stonybrook. It is simply a time for you to learn more about the church, meet new people, and discern whether membership is the next step for you. This is a one-day class and will be held on Sunday, April 28, from 12:30–2:30 pm. A light lunch will be provided. Childcare is available. Annual Spring Clean-up  Join us on Saturday, April 20, from 9:00-11:00 am to assist in preparing our property for spring and summer.  If possible, bring gloves, rakes, or small garden tools. Tasks include spreading mulch, weeding, and trimming. Your involvement is greatly appreciated. Thank you!  In case of rain, the back-up date is April 27. Prime Timers Lunch and Learn What is the current state of youth mental health?  You are invited to join us on Wednesday, April 17 at 11:30 am for a Lunch and Learn with Dr. Hannah Kerby.  Dr. Kerby is a pediatric psychologist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.  She will discuss her work with youth mental health. What are the challenges?  What is being done in the community (schools, families, churches, non-profits, etc.) to provide support?  You invited to attend and bring along friends and neighbors.  There will be a light lunch (with free-will offering) at 11:30 am and the speaker at  noon in Wesley Hall. Monthly Movie Group.  On Monday, April 1, the monthly movie group will see "One Life," the true story of a London stockbroker who is able to save over 600 Jewish children from Czechoslovakia before the outbreak of World War II.  For these actions he was knighted in 2002.  The film features Anthony Hopkins.  The movie is currently at the Easton theaters, showing at 1 PM but this may change before next week.  We will go to the first showing on Monday.  If you are interested in seeing the film please check online over the weekend for up to date show times.  Following the movie we will walk to a local spot for food and fellowship.  If you have questions please contact Bill Bartter (614-403-8272 or wbartter@att.net).

ATTENTION ALL BAKERS!  The United Women in Faith Election Day Bake Sale is on March 19th. Your donations make a difference!  Please package all items in ½ Dozen or Dozen increments with ingredients listed. Please drop off in the kitchen by March 18th by 4:00 pm so we can get ready for Tuesday.  We will open the Bake Sale at 6:30 am and be there until all of the goodies are sold!  Thank you for helping us make this a successful day.

United Women in Faith

United Women in Faith (UWF) invites the congregation to our General Meeting on Saturday, March 16.  Pastor David and Melissa Hoffman will be sharing their journeys/perspectives regarding their daughters who live with Cystic Fibrosis.  The meeting will be 9:30 am - noon, in Wesley Hall.  Communion will be offered and there will be refreshments.  If you plan to come to this meeting, please fill out the back of the Connection Card or click here so we can plan accordingly.  We hope to see you there!

McCurdy Mission Trip 2024 McCurdy Mission Trip Planning has begun. This year the trip will be from September 14-21. The McCurdy Ministry Community Center is in Espanola about thirty minutes north of Santa Fe. The week will consist of working on projects on the campus which may include yard work, painting, and providing help where needed. There will also be the opportunity to see the beauty of the area. An informational meeting will be held on Sunday, March 3 from 2:00-3:00 pm in MPR-C. This will be a chance to hear an overview of the trip and ask any questions. All are welcome to join us as we visit the Republic of Sierra Leone without leaving Central Ohio!  Dr. Anne Christo-Baker, a native of Sierra Leone, will be your tour guide as she shares background, history, and culture of the country in Africa as well as her own personal life journey, from growing up to Stonybrook.
