Celebrate World Communion Sunday: One Worship Service at 9:30 am  On October 4, we will gather as an entire church family for a single worship service at 9:30 am to celebrate World Communion Sunday.  It will be a beautiful time to worship together, lift our voices in song, and be reminded of the unity we share as followers of Christ.  After worship, stay and enjoy our Fall Festival with fellowship, food, and fun for all ages.  This is a great day to invite visitors or those we have not seen in a while to come and reconnect.  Please mark your calendars and join us.  We look forward to sharing this special day together as a congregation.

Join us Sunday, October 4 after 9:30 worship for a Fall Festival Church Picnic at Stonybrook! Enjoy fun (Inflatables, Cornhole, and More), Food (City BBQ and hot dogs), and Fellowship.  This is a free event!  This event will be in the church's back parking lot, so it is stroller-, wheelchair-, and walker-friendly.  Mark your calendar now and watch for more information next week!

Prime Timers Lunch and Learn

Prime Timers Lunch and Learn

Prime Timer Lunch and Learn  You are invited to hear the dramatic story of the "Church for All People" on Parson's Avenue.  Our presenter will be Reverend John Edgar, retired United Methodist pastor.  He was convinced that working together, God's people could accomplish mighty things.  What began as a welcoming, community church has grown into a dynamic faith community that in addition to worship offers a free store, a fresh market (where a group from Stonybrook volunteers every month), a bicycle ministry and a housing ministry.  Come hear John's story and his ideas about God's economy of abundance.  The lunch will be Wednesday, Sept 16 at 11:30 am in Wesley Hall.  A free-will offering will be taken to cover the cost of food and provide a donation to the Community Development organization.  Please click here if you plan to attend.  If you have questions, contact Bill Bartter (wbartter@att.net or 614-403-8272).

Special Church/Charge Conference

On August 20, 2026, at 6:30 pm, Rev. Hoffman will convene a special called Church Conference to consider the candidacy of member Joe Brookins.  In the United Methodist Church, when a certified candidate for ministry is presented to the Church Conference, the congregation has the responsibility to discern and affirm the candidate's gifts, character, call to ministry, and evidence of fruitful service.  The vote is not merely procedural but reflects the church's role in recognizing and supporting God's call. All members are eligible and encouraged to participate in this congregational vote.  By voting to recommend and support the candidate, the church conference expresses confidence in the individual's readiness to continue the candidacy process and commits to encouraging, nurturing, and praying for the candidate throughout their journey toward ordained or licensed ministry.
